Yes, the subject of ENGL is unsurprisingly flexible in is structure in comparison to other subjects. All three curricular of NCEA, Cambridge, and IB tests analysis and essay writing on poetry, prose, drama, and unseen texts.

In this course, we will cover the prerequisite texts required in A Level, one poem, one prose, and one drama. Students are encouraged and taught not only the texts, but also the skills of analysis, critical thinking, and essay writing, which they can apply to all texts, and beyond the subject of ENGL.

Yes, we use an interactive classroom style to prevent distractions. Students are required to have open webcams and engage in interactive teaching throughout the class. Not only are the classes focused on engaging with the texts and teacher, but this method helps student develop the skill of how to learn.

While specific quotes from texts might be forgotten after exams, students obtain the guide to achieving top marks in high school is less than two school terms. These skills of learning, analysing, and critical thinking carry on with them unto year 12 & 13 (and for the rest of their lives) and are applicable across all subjects and fields of study.

This course replaces inefficient, panicked study habits with highly efficient, guided study. I believe, what takes up more time is an inefficiently method in learning ENGL, and the consequences of not achieving the grades needed for university entrance.

Thanks to interactive classes and regular homework, the teacher is aware of a student’s progress before the next class even begins. Because ENGL is highly subjective and flexible, not understanding a specific piece of content is completely fine. There is no true “falling behind” in ENGL class; the only way to fall behind is doing nothing to move closer to your goal.

For students, if your goal is to get from current grades to desired grades in English, then effort is required. If you are going to reach that goal eventually, it makes sense to put in the effort now and do it in an efficient and structured way. Yes, I understand that things come up throughout the school term that may take higher priority. If you wish to unenrol from the course, you may do so by the deadline of the Sunday of the end of the second week of classes, you will be refunded the full amount of tuition you have paid. Refunds for the course after the deadline are not possible.

There are no individual refunds for missing class(es).

Yes, term 3 holidays is the most crucial time for students to prepare for end of year examinations. Among students, term 3 holidays is known as the final sprint for exams. For seniors Y11-13s, exams begin as early as the first week into term 4. So for the best of the students, the classes will run through the term 3 holidays.
